Canada supermarkets curb 'destructively fished' seafood
Ottawa (AFP) June 2, 2010
Canada's major supermarket chains won unusual praise from Greenpeace on Wednesday for starting to rid their shelves of "destructively fished or farmed" seafood. In a report, Greenpeace ranked eight major grocery chains on their efforts to help improve the sustainability of the seafood they buy and sell. On May 24, 2010, the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) instrument on NASA's Terra spacecraft captured this false-color, high-resolution view of the very tip of the Mississippi River delta.
