Yale Scientist Helps Pinpoint Threats To Life In World's Rivers

The food chain - the number of organisms that feed on each other - in the world's streams and rivers depends more upon the size of the stream and whether the waterways flood or run dry than the amount of available food resources, Yale University and Arizona State University (ASU) researchers report online in the Oct. 14 issue of the journal Science Express. US commits 275 mln dlrs to improve Jordan water
Washington (AFP) Oct 22, 2010
The United States said Friday it will commit 275 million dollars to help parched ally Jordan improve its water supply. The grant, to be signed Monday by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, will "increase the supply of available water" in the country, a State Department statement said.
