The acquisition represents Acciona's continued expansion in North America as a long-term owner and operator of wind developments and renewable energy solutions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Acciona expects to install approximately 150 MW or more in 2008 from this pipeline. Some of EcoEnergy's near-term development assets are in Stephenson County, Illinois, and Northeastern Wisconsin. These new wind power installations will help Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with traditional electric generation facilities.

Construction of each of these projects will employ approximately 150 workers and will require 15-20 permanent positions for long-term operations.

Acciona will be supplying its own wind turbines for each of these development projects from its new U.S. production facility in Iowa.

Acciona recently started construction on its first wind turbine manufacturing plant in the United States, located in West Branch, Iowa. Upon its completion in late 2007, the 200,190 square-foot plant will supply turbines for Acciona wind farms throughout North America and will utilize Acciona's proprietary technology to produce its AWP 1.5-77 and AWP 1.5-82 models. The West Branch facility will be Acciona's fourth wind turbine assembly plant; two currently operate in Spain and one in China.

Acciona has implemented 4,653 MW of wind power across the world, representing approximately 6% of the world total in wind power installations.
