BAE lands $72M award to support Navy air traffic control
by Tauren Dyson
Washington (UPI) Oct 31, 2018

BAE Systems received a contract to deliver air traffic control and landing systems services to U.S. Navy ships and facilities.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract contract, announced Tuesday by the Defense Department, is valued at $72 million.

These systems help escort pilots to safe landings on aircraft carriers and other ships and at land facilities, through various weather conditions.

Work on the ships includes fleet services, equipment improvement, technical efforts, operational software, test bed efforts, repair, fabrication, and restoration; training; local area network, and quality assurance and system safety.

The Navy will obligate funds for the award as it receives task orders.

The work will be performed in Maryland and various other locations, and is expected to be completed by October 2023.
