Troy Dawson.

Boeing subsidiary Spectrolab has named Troy Dawson - a leader with more than 25 years of satellite project management, engineering, and development experience - as president of the solar cell and panel manufacturer. "Troy's proven track record of efficiently and effectively leading high-performance teams will be valuable to Spectrolab," said Craig Cooning, vice president and general manager of Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems.

"He understands that continuous improvements, such as Spectrolab's ongoing factory modernization and automation, are important to reducing production time and costs, and lead to increased customer satisfaction."

Prior to this assignment, Dawson was director of satellite bus products at Boeing, managing overall engineering and operations for satellite infrastructure.

He also has served as deputy program director for the Boeing Wideband Global SATCOM Block II program and held management and engineering roles on key Boeing satellite product lines.

Dawson replaces Dave Lillington, who is retiring after more than 28 years with Boeing and Spectrolab. His appointment is effective immediately.

Spectrolab manufactures products for terrestrial applications and solar simulators, and is the world's leading supplier of high-energy efficiency multijunction cells and panels for concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) spacecraft power, in addition to being the world's leading provider of airborne searchlight systems.

Spectrolab's CPV cells can be found on every continent of the world, and in nearly every CPV system currently in operation worldwide.
