Representing the largest order to date for Carmanah's solar outdoor lighting, valued at nearly $1M USD, Mexican officials have selected the EG-series solar LED outdoor lighting system for an outdoor area project.

Carmanah's solution, the powerful new standalone EG-series solar outdoor lights, met all performance requirements and provided the necessary economics; lower capital cost with new value based product, significant energy cost savings and eliminating the need for electrical cabling throughout the deployment.

In addition, the product has been designed for superb vandalism and theft protection. The project was won jointly by Carmanah and local partner Semex, S.A. de C.V.

The Carmanah EG-series solar LED outdoor lighting portfolio is the company's latest generation of reliable and cost-effective solar LED lighting products specifically designed for cost-sensitive and developing regions of the world.

On November 30th, 2011, Carmanah launched the anticipated EG40 and EG80 solar outdoor lighting systems to service cost-sensitive and developing markets with high performance requirements. Offering a top-of-pole integrated design that eases installation and protects against vandalism, the EG-series is designed to be the most robust and reliable solar powered lighting system on the market.

The EG-series solar engines are specified for their location and power high-efficiency LED luminaires which are available in standard IES distribution types II, III, IV, V, and flood.

"This project represents the single largest installation of Carmanah solar outdoor lighting products to date. It communicates the market's acceptance of our brand, demonstrates the strength of our relationship with Semex, and is proof of the EG-series' ability to meet the needs of cost-sensitive and developing markets throughout the world." Bruce Cousins, Carmanah CEO, states.

In 2010, Carmanah Technologies and Semex entered into a manufacturing and distribution agreement to allow both companies to bring leading-edge solar outdoor lighting technologies to Mexico as well as better serve major clients across the country.
