Exports of Brazilian beef to China were suspended on February 23 after an "isolated" and "atypical" case of mad cow disease was confirmed in the northern Brazilian state of Para.
Brazil is the world's largest exporter of beef and China is its main market.
"The Chinese government decided to lift the ban on Brazilian beef," following a meeting between Agriculture Minister Carlos Favaro and Chinese customs chief Yu Jianhua, the Brazilian ministry said in a statement.
So far, China's government has not commented on the Brazilian announcement.
In 2022, China spent $8 billion on Brazilian beef, amounting to almost nine percent of its imports from Latin America's largest economy.
Favaro, who met Yu in Beijing, said the decision was "a step forward for Brazil."
Lula is due to arrive in China on Sunday for a six-day visit in which bilateral trade will be top of the agenda.
Trade between Brazil and its largest partner China surpassed $150 billion in 2022.
Brazil mainly exports soybean products, iron and its derivatives, oil products and beef to China.
