A subsidiary of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions is to help the U.S. Army with the development of high-energy laser systems.

Under a $32 million task order, Digital Fusion Solutions will provide the Army's Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command with systems engineering, software support, training and new development enhancements.

It will also perform operations and maintenance services during the demonstration and testing of high-energy laser systems.

"We are very excited with this win because it enables us to expand our technical expertise in high-energy lasers while continuing to work closely with our long-time valued customer, U.S. Army SMDC," said Dave Carter, president of Kratos' DRSS Division.

Kratos DRSS provides specialized technology and services for U.S. national security programs.

Additional details of the task order, which was issued under an earlier Integrated Test and Analysis Contract, were not disclosed.
