Endeavour Nears Launch Pad 39A
Cape Canveral FL (SPX) Oct 24, 2008 Space shuttle Endeavour is expected to complete its rollaround this evening from Launch Pad 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center to Launch Pad 39A on Thursday. The move began at 8:28 a.m. EDT and will leave Endeavour positioned for the last steps in processing before launch. Liftoff is targeted for Nov. 14 at 7:55 p.m. EST. Endeavour was moved from Launch Pad 39B so workers there could continue modifications to the launch complex for the Ares I-X test flight in 2009. Seven astronauts will fly Endeavour to the International Space Station during STS-126, carrying about 19,000 pounds of equipment and supplies, in the Multi-purpose Logistics Module Leonardo, that will eventually allow the station to host six residents instead of the current three. STS-126 Mission Moves Forward
Cape Canaverl FL (SPX) Oct 22, 2008The Space Shuttle Program's two-day Flight Readiness Review, or FRR, for Endeavour's STS-126 mission will wrap up Wednesday. From this week's FRR discussions, decisions about preparedness for launch will be taken to the agency-level Flight Readiness Review that will be held Oct. 30-31 at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. |
