The satellites were launched using SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, which lifted off at 10:13 pm PT on October 19 from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The satellites were dispensed in 10 batches over 20 minutes, and signal acquisition was confirmed for all 20. These satellites were constructed by Airbus U.S. Space and Defense at their facility in Merritt Island, Florida.
This launch follows the one-year anniversary of the merger between Eutelsat and OneWeb, which made Eutelsat the world's only operator offering both GEO and LEO satellite services. Eutelsat Group provides the benefits of geostationary orbit (GEO) satellites' high-throughput capacity alongside the global, low-latency connectivity of LEO satellites. Since the merger, demand for multi-orbit services has grown significantly, and the company is collaborating with industry leaders like Intelsat, Inmarsat Maritime, and Hughes to provide advanced global connectivity solutions across various industries.
