ExxonMobil Introduces Android Station Locator App

ExxonMobil is launching its latest in mobile technology - the Exxon Mobil Fuel Finder application for Android. The application gives real-time maps, driving directions, and station information for nearly 10,000 Exxon and Mobil retail locations across the continental United States.

"This new app continues our record of delivering what consumers want and need," says Chris Mahoney, U.S. branded wholesale manager for ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing.

"Since the iPhone and iPad version of this app was introduced in November 2010, it's had over 26,000 downloads. Our customers have been very interested in when the same technology would be available for their Androids, and now they can more easily and more efficiently find an Exxon or Mobil station no matter where they are."

The Exxon Mobil Fuel Finder application is a mobile version of the popular online station locator, available since January 2001, at exxonmobilstations.com. The application relies on GPS technology to identify a user's location and then highlights nearby Exxon and Mobil stations on an interactive Google map.

An advanced filtering feature distinguishes stations by hours, fuel sold, pay at the pump, convenience store, Speedpass, car wash and service bay. This feature allows customers to seek out specific services prior to their arrival.

The application also includes an "Our Gasoline" section, which provides information about Exxon and Mobil fuel, including how its development on a molecular level helps clean intake valves and fuel injectors.
