Globalstar expands satellite infrastructure across Brazil with eight new antennas

Globalstar has begun installing eight new six-meter C-3 tracking antennas at its ground stations across Brazil to enhance its mobile satellite services. Three Globalstar-owned stations in Manaus, Petrolina, and Presidente Prudente will each receive two additional antennas. In Sao Paulo, the company is working with Ascenty Data Centers e Telecomunicacoes S.A. to add two more antennas at Ascenty's teleport facility.

These upgrades are designed to improve service quality and add redundancy across the network while supporting next-generation connectivity such as IoT and device-to-device solutions. The new infrastructure addresses connectivity needs in regions of Brazil and South America not served by terrestrial networks.

L. Barbee Ponder, General Counsel and Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Globalstar, said, "Brazil and South America have always been very important markets for Globalstar, and we are looking forward to supporting the latest mobile satellite solutions there with the substantial upgrades and expansions of our ground infrastructure and third-generation C-3 satellite system."

Ponder also stated, "With Brazil, Globalstar has now announced construction projects related to its third-generation C-3 system that are ongoing at 14 different locations in eight countries on four continents - and this is just the beginning."

The eight new antennas are part of Globalstar's broader expansion, which will include up to 90 new tracking antennas supporting the company's third-generation C-3 satellite system. This investment aims to provide increased service functionality and capacity for hundreds of millions of users globally.
