Port-Au-Prince (AFP) Jan 14, 2011

Heavy rains in the region over a 24-hour period have caused flooding that damaged roads around the town.

"Houses built on the hillside were washed away by landslides, killing the occupants," local official Guillaume Silvera told AFP by telephone.
