The U.S. Navy's counter-mine effort is to receive support services from Harris Corp. under a five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The award to Harris Corp. features a three-year base period of performance and two one-year options. It has a ceiling value of $228 million and was awarded by the Space and Naval Warfare, or SPAWAR, Systems Center Pacific.

"This contract continues Harris' legacy of service and support that has proven vital to our national interest in securing the seas for military vessels and merchant shipping," said Carl D'Alessandro, president, Harris Critical Networks. "It demands the type of sophisticated, integrated and ultra-reliable performance our customers count on from Harris."

Under the contract, Harris will provide solutions to support current systems and future mine counter-measures; anti-submarine warfare; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and force protection.

Task orders given to the company will cover specification and design, fabrication, installation, test and evaluation, fielding, maintenance, training and configuration.
