Horizon Navigation Integrates Clear Channel Total Traffic Network

Horizon Navigation has announced that it will incorporate real-time traffic data from Clear Channel Radio's Total Traffic Network (CCTTN) into its NavMate software.

"Clear Channel Radio is the proven leader in providing high quality traffic data that is the most accurate and reliable when compared to any other real-time traffic provider," said John Angerman, Vice President Business Development for Horizon Navigation. "This deal streamlines the process for manufacturers to incorporate both navigation maps and real-time traffic on GPS systems."

"Horizon Navigation has an in-depth knowledge of the marketplace, having been in the business of providing detailed navigation software to leading GPS manufacturers for almost 20 years," said Jeff Littlejohn, Executive Vice President of Distribution Development for Clear Channel Radio.

"The NavMate software already calculates the optimal route to any destination and provides detour routes when roadwork is ahead, and with the addition of CCTTN, consumers will now have the most accurate real-time traffic information to eliminate the guesswork in traveling."

Horizon's NavMate software has been powering navigation solutions in the USA since 1989 and in Europe since 1997, providing support for 27 languages and over 75 countries. Throughout the company's history, its innovative developments have resulted in more than 100 worldwide patents in car navigation, which are licensed by some of the biggest names in GPS navigation.

Horizon's flexible navigation platform provides an easily customized user interface that allows GPS manufacturers the choice of customizing their own unique look and feel or using the market proven NavMate turn key solutions for in dash, portable, and Smartphone navigation.

Customers include BMW, MINI USA, Volvo (all of whom offer subscription-free services) as well as device makers ASUS, Garmin, TomTom, Navigon, Nav N Go, Mio Technology, Delphi, Kenwood, Clarion, Harmon Kardon, Panasonic, Siemens, and Cobra Electronics, among others.
