New Framatome office in Bristol opens

In February 2019, Framatome opened a new office in Bristol in the presence of Jean-Bernard Ville, Senior Executive Vice President in charge of the Large Projects Business Unit, Marc Duret, Managing Director of Framatome UK and Pascal Engelvin, Senior representative of the company in Bristol.

Marc Duret stated "This office demonstrates Framatome's commitment to work alongside its British partners and customers to deliver safe, reliable, affordable and low-carbon energy to the country".

The opening of this office allows Framatome to be even closer to its British customers within the framework of key projects such as the Hinkley Point C EPR reactors with NNB, maintenance and fuel reload services provided to the Sizewell B reactor for EDF Energy and engineering services to EDF Energy engineering teams in Barnwood, Gloucester.

Lithuania asks Belarus to convert nuclear plant to gas
Vilnius (AFP) March 7, 2019
Lithuanian Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis on Thursday suggested that Belarus convert its nearly-completed nuclear power plant to gas, saying the move could lead to closer ties between Minsk and the EU. Lithuania, a eurozone Baltic state, has repeatedly said construction of the plant 20 kilometres (12 miles) from its border does not meet safety standards, a claim rejected by Minsk.
