Russia's Ministry of Defense has received a number of multi-role fighters from the Sukhoi Company.

The planes were the SU-35S, designated by NATO as the Flanker-E, and the Su-30M2 fighter, or the Flanker-C.

Sukhoi said the transfer occurred recently at the airport of the Sukhoi Company's branch — Komsomolsk-on-Amur aviation plant but did not detail the number of planes involved.

According to the company, it transferred a "batch" of aircraft, which were manufactured under a government procurement order for the years 2011 - 2020.

The Su-35S is a fourth-generation plus-plus aircraft with enhanced avionics. It is a single-seat fighter with a maximum speed of more than 1,490 miles per hour at altitude.

The Su-30M2, a two-seat fighter, features a modified weapon control system with advanced capabilities to engage ground and sea targets; a new cockpit display system with multifunctional color liquid crystal displays; improved navigation and radio communication systems; a modern onboard defense system; and a range of air-to-air and air-to-surface weapon.

It has a maximum speed of 1,320 miles per hour.
