OrbitGPS has announced that it has launched its line of specialized GPS receivers for use with rugged handheld mobile computers. OrbitGPS's products allow enterprise users of mobile computers to add GPS and location-based capabilities to their field solutions.

OrbitGPS's cost-effective GPS receivers are designed to work with a wide range of enterprise-grade mobile computers. The company was founded by a team of enterprise mobile GPS veterans with significant experience in providing enterprise GPS solutions.

OrbitGPS provides GPS receivers and accessories including:

+ Bluetooth GPS receivers

+ Serial GPS receivers and data loggers for use with mobile computer vehicle cradles

+ Snap-On GPS receiver attachments for popular rugged mobile computers

"GPS is a proven technology that can add efficiency and help cut costs, especially fuel costs, for companies in distribution, transportation, field service and other areas. We believe there has been a serious void in the market for a company with the right GPS products and the ability to support mobile enterprise solutions in the field," said Michael Forbes, Managing Director of OrbitGPS.

"OrbitGPS's strength is providing enterprise-grade GPS receivers based on our knowledge of the technology, the computing platforms and the needs of the enterprise user."

"The launch of OrbitGPS allows us to offer state-of-the-art GPS receivers to system integrators supporting customers in field service, transportation and distribution." Said Andrew Cahill, Managing Director, MobileWorxs.

"While some mobile computers are now available with built-in GPS, OrbitGPS's products allow us to provide GPS capabilities to our customers' installed base of mobile computers and in cases where internal GPS is not the right solution."
