PAE has received a contract to help the government of Tunisia develop more advanced maritime surveillance capabilities.

The agreement supports the U.S. Navy Regional Maritime Awareness Capability program, which aims to bolster maritime defenses for partner nations. According to PAE, work on the contract will include the delivery of command, control, communications, and surveillance capabilities to the Tunisian navy.

"PAE has over 60 years of supporting the execution of complex and critical missions by providing technical services and national security solutions while exceeding the end user requirements for performance and sustainability," PAE National Security Solutions president Kenneth Myers said in a press release.

Myers went on to add the work will support the country's ability to secure its borders and promote peace and stability in the region. The project will include the integration of multiple maritime sensors, allowing the Tunisian navy to track and detect incoming maritime threats.

While the United States and Tunisia are not bound by any formal security treaties, the two countries often collaborate for military projects. The U.S.-Tunisian Joint Military Commission meets each year to discuss this cooperation as well as Tunisia's military modernization program.
