PROINSO - a leading retailer of PV solar materials - has supplied 5MW to the first PV solar farm on the grid on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a Union Territory in India. The delivery to the farm located in the capital city, Port Blair, was made by Cirus Solar, PROINSO's strategic partner for the Indian market.

At Proinso they are satisfied with this new supply in India. 'It cements our position in the Indian solar PV market. Since we started operating in India, we've delivered more than 55MW in PV solar materials to different projects. Setting up an office in Mumbai last year, we've strengthened our business strategy in the country. We're confident in the expansion of our business opportunities in off-the-grid systems in the country. We strive to offer leading services, supporting big installers in the Indian market,' say management sources.

Holding an agreement for the worldwide distribution of SMA products, PROINSO delivered Sunny Central SC800 CP XT inverters to the solar farm in Port Blair. Developed for use in large PV plants with a homogeneous structure, they are characterised by string monitoring, modular design and the ability to feed into the medium-voltage power grid.

In addition, they are easy to install. With peak efficiencies greater than 98 percent, they are the most efficient central inverters on the market. Furthermore, their maximum reliability and durability ensure the greatest investment security for a project like this one in India.

Currently, 96 Qualified Installers are members of PROINSO's International Network in the South Asian country. 'Having almost a hundred installers in India helps us develop new projects and supply more products in this market,' they say at PROINSO.

In fact, it is a highly relevant market, given its good prospects. A total 1.5GW have been installed this year in the country, taking steps towards the goal of having 20,000MW installed by 2022. With the support policies endorsed by the government, including the development of programmes and initiatives encouraging the use of renewable energy, PV solar energy has a huge growth potential over the next few years in this market.

Besides having an office and almost a hundred Qualified Installers in India, this year PROINSO attended Renergy Coimbatore 2013, a trade show held in January, organised by CODISSIA.

In addition, the company is participating in Intersolar India in November this year, for the third year in a row. It is the largest solar energy trade show in the country. This kind of renewable energy events enable PROINSO to contact clients, installers, EPC contractors and potential partners in situ, for the expansion of its business in the country.
