Rockwell Collins contracted by Navy for E-2D training system
by James Laporta
Washington (UPI) Jan 11, 2018

The U.S. Navy awarded Rockwell Collins with a contract for integrated training systems for the Northrop Grumman-manufactured E-2D Hawkeye, an all-weather, carrier-capable tactical airborne early warning aircraft.

The deal, worth more than $21.4 million, is a modification to a previous award contract under the terms of a firm-fixed-price agreement, the Department of Defense announced on Wednesday.

The contract, from the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division in Orlando, Fla., tabs Rockwell Collins' simulation and training solutions division with delivering maintenance and flight trainer aircraft concurrency, technology and associated technical data, according to the Pentagon.

Work on the contract will occur at Naval Air Station Norfolk in Virginia and at Naval Base Venture County in Point Mugu, Calif. Work is expected to be completed in March 2021.

More than $21.4 million has been obligated to Rockwell Collins from U.S. Navy fiscal year 2018 aircraft procurement funds, and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
