Russian-made metal used at Bulgaria nuclear plant meets quality standards

The Kozloduy plant provides 50% of Bulgaria`s power.

Russian-made metal used at the fifth unit of the Kozloduy nuclear power plant in Bulgaria meets all quality standards, a laboratory study by independent experts confirmed following reports in Bulgaria`s media about the metal`s allegedly poor quality.

Metal used in the sixth unit will be tested in September.

The Kozloduy plant provides 50% of Bulgaria`s power. Its construction in 1974 was supported by the Soviet Union.

In the 2000s its energy units were upgraded by Russian experts.
