SKorea to consider joining anti-WMD drill

 Seoul (AFP) April 5, 2009
 South Korea is considering joining a US-led initiative to curb weapons of mass destruction after North Korea's rocket launch on Sunday, Foreign Minister Yu Myung-Hwan said.

North Korea has warned that the South's participation in the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) would amount to a declaration of war.

"North Korea's long-range rocket launch highlighted the need for the PSI," Yu told reporters. "The government is actively considering participating fully in PSI."

 North Korea's rocket launch Sunday rattled all of East Asia and US President Barack Obama led global condemnation of what he called an attempt to provoke trouble.
