Seoul (AFP) July 1, 2010 Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction, South Korea's leading power equipment manufacturer, said Thursday it had won a 3.9 billion dollar order to provide nuclear reactors to the United Arab Emirates. The order came from state-run Korea Electric Power Corp. Last December a KEPCO-led consortium won a landmark 20 billion dollar deal to design, build and operate four 1,400-megawatt reactors by 2020 in the UAE. South Korea, which generates 30 percent of its electricity from nuclear power, is eager to export its expertise. KEPCO is currently chasing a deal to build a nuclear power plant in Turkey.
