The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency says Saudi Arabia has requested a Foreign Military Sales deal for support services and logistics support.

The proposed sale, which has received approval from the State Department, was reported to Congress and carries a price tag of $80 million.

"The government of Saudi Arabia has requested a possible sale to provide three years of support services for the Facilities Security Forces Training and Advisory Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Interior," the agency said. "The support will include technical assistance and advisory support salaries, housing, office equipment, training, maintenance, vehicles, travel, furniture, and other related support."

The agency said approval of the deal would continue the FSF-TAG mission in Saudi Arabia and help the Saudis in protecting critical infrastructure.

"The proposed sale conveys the U.S.'s continued commitment to Saudi Arabia's security and strengthens our strategic partnership," it said.
