United Nations (AFP) March 3, 2008 The Security Council voted overwhelmingly Monday to tighten UN sanctions on Iran over its refusal to suspend its sensitive nuclear fuel work which the West fears is aimed at developing nuclear weapons. A resolution sponsored by Britain, France and Germany gained the backing of 14 of the council's 15 members. Indonesia abstained.
