Baghdad (AFP) Nov 2, 2010 Thirty people were killed and 75 wounded in 11 coordinated car bombings in different Shiite districts of Baghdad on Tuesday, an interior ministry official said. Some of the bombs were near cafes or restaurants, the official said. Violence in Iraq has plunged dramatically since its peak in 2006-2007 but casualties from insurgent and military action are still routine. October saw the least violence since November 2009, according to an official casualty toll released this week. A total of 194 Iraqis were killed last month, including 53 Sunday during a hostage drama by Al-Qaeda gunmen at a Baghdad church on Sunday, in which 46 Christian worshippers and seven security force personnel were killed.
