Track24 Defence releases SCC Titan
by Staff Writers
Ottawa, Canada (SPX) Jul 06, 2011

The system can now incorporate blue and red contacts, as well as VHF/UHF/HF communications, allowing for superior military asset management and deployment."

Track24 Defence, the commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) blue force and blue personnel tracking (BFT/BPT) specialist, has unveiled SCC Titan, its new turnkey situational command and control (SCC) solution.

It offers commanders full blue force tracking capabilities alongside upgraded features including: red force contact, machine-to-machine (M2M) signalling, and a communications platform engineered to support and integrate battlefield VHF/UHF/HF radio, with the incumbent AES256-encrypted satellite communications network.

SCC Titan's new M2M capabilities are supported by Track24 Defence's Whisper satellite device (right). The Whisper is the latest GPS device of its type and uses the Iridium satellite network to provide secure AES256 satellite communications. The IP67-rated 300g Whisper boasts M2M-ready interfaces, and is FCC and CE compliant.

The Whisper is light enough to be used as a battle-ready personal satcom device or as a secure data link to land, air or sea assets making use of a detachable antenna and its robust, versatile design.

Giles Peeters, Track24 Defence Sector Director, comments: "Offering affordable, secure, interoperable beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) situational command and control, was the initial challenge. However, SCC Titan's capabilities, which have been upgraded since the original SCC launch, allow us to present forces around the world with a comprehensive blue force tracking battle management system, that can stand-alone or be integrated into any other C2 strategic system, at a fraction of the cost of other solutions on the market.

"The flexibility of the SCC software meant we could quickly advance development to incorporate the new M2M and battle-radio functionality, alongside high-level military requests for red force contact management.

The system can now incorporate blue and red contacts, as well as VHF/UHF/HF communications, allowing for superior military asset management and deployment."

The SCC Titan also includes nearest responder automated alert capabilities, satellite-to-email transmissions and upgraded mission planning functionality.

Peeters concludes: "Our background in high-level military mission deployments means we have a clear understanding of what situational information commanders require, to control and coordinate their troops and assets; those capabilities are all reflected in the new SCC Titan and supported by the Whisper device, amongst others."

The new SCC Titan solution incorporates the SCC Platform, the server-based application for HQ deployment; the SCC Tactical application, designed to run from Windows-enabled hardbooks or tablet computers, allowing field-based assets full situational command and control; and the SCC Mobile, a stand-alone Whisper device, capable of tracking, reporting, and two-way messaging. All SCC applications are supported by a range of market leading satellite and radio units, details of which can be found here.
