Floods caused by torrential rain in central Turkey have killed one person and left one missing, authorities and media said.

The body of a 52-year-old shepherd was found near the town of Kirsehir about four kilometres (2.5 miles) from the place where he went missing, the DHA news agency reported late Saturday.

Rescue teams helped people stuck in their homes after landslides in the region, the report added. Kayseri province governor Gokmen Cicek said on the X social media platform that one person was missing.

The neighbouring province of Sivas has also been hit by floods.
