US Army chopper disappears on Hawaii training mission

A US Army helicopter has gone missing during a night training mission off Hawaii, officials said Wednesday amid reports five crewmen were missing.

The UH-60 helicopter was reported missing Tuesday evening off the island of Oahu, the Army said in a statement.

It had been taking part in a mission with another helicopter when it disappeared from radio and visual contact.

A search was under way with aircraft from the Army, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.

CNN reported that searchers were looking for five crew.
