The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command has given Rolls-Royce a support contract for the company's AE 1107C engines used on V-22 Osprey aircraft.

The AE 1107C turboshaft is part of the AE product family, which has over 5,800 engines in service and is used on U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force V-22s.

Rolls-Royce said the one-year, Rolls-Royce MissionCare contract signed is a modification of a prior agreement. The award covers repairs and support services. The work will be conducted at company facilities in Indianapolis, Ind., and Oakland, Calif., as well as at customer bases as fleet support.

"We are focused on providing innovative support and helping our customers complete their missions every day," said Paul Craig, Rolls-Royce, president of Defense Services. "Rolls-Royce is continuously working to improve the AE 1107C engine, increasing both power and reliability for the operator."

Additional contract details were not provided by Rolls-Royce.
