Bedminster NJ (SPX) Feb 2, 2006Loral Skynet has begun construction of a replacement for its aging Telstar 11 telecom satellite. The new satellite will be called Telstar 11N, for "new." The original Telstar 11 was launched in 1995 and provides Ku-Band coverage across most of North America -- except for the West Coast -- and Europe. The replacement will Africa and parts of the Atlantic Ocean region, as well as North America and Europe, the company said in a statement. |
