China's AgBank raises 10 billion dollars in Shanghai IPO
Shanghai (AFP) July 7, 2010
Agricultural Bank of China said on Wednesday it raised 68.5 billion yuan (10.1 billion US dollars) from the Shanghai portion of its initial public offering. The amount included the overallotment option and put the bank on track to achieve the largest IPO on record by raising up to 22.1 billion dollars ahead of its dual listing in Hong Kong and Shanghai, the bank said in a statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Romania flood death toll climbs to 24: official

The death toll in Romania from storms and floods has climbed to 24, with one person still missing, the emergency situations inspectorate said Thursday as the Danube exceeded its warning level. NASA's TRMM Satellite Sees Heavy Rainfall In Hurricane Alex

Hurricane Alex is generating some very heavy rainfall, and the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission satellite known as TRMM has been calculating it from its orbit in space. As predicted by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, Florida, Alex intensified after entering the warm waters of the southwest Gulf of Mexico.
